How to Fix a ProConnect GRUB Menu Error

GRUB provides boot menu options for the Linux-based ProConnect NVR.  Occasionally, errors or corrupted files encountered during boot-up may prevent the recorder from booting up correctly.

Below are two instances that may prompt the GRUB menu to appear:

A hotkey has been pressed during the boot-up process

The "ESC” key was pressed during the booting process and this will look like the image below. If this happens you will just need to highlight “NVROS GNU/Linux,” and hit ENTER.

Corruption

If the GRUB loader is corrupted and can't load the OS, a message will appear similar to the image below.  If this happens, use this Clean OS instruction to re-install the operating system.  This option shouldn't affect stored video footage if the storage area isn't corrupted.

After the unit is recovered, you may need to Import the recorder's previous Configuration File from AvertX Connect.
