Do I need to use the camera's DC12V connector?

Some AvertX cameras are equipped with a DC12V cable connector/pigtail.  This is an optional feature on some cameras like the HD458 and HD848 models.  It is only used to power the camera(s) if not connected to a power-over-ethernet (POE) network port.

The DC12V adapter is not needed when the camera(s) is plugged directly into an AvertX NVR's embedded POE camera port(s) or to an external POE switch.

All AvertX recorders have embedded POE ports that transfer data and also provide the camera(s) with power through an Ethernet cable and its RJ45 connector.

This optional power feature could be used if the camera is going to be connected and transferring data through non-POE network equipment.

Note:  AvertX does not supply nor sell external 12V DC power supplies.
