How to test the internet speed at the AvertX recorder's location?

Internet speeds at the NVR's location are relevant to overall remote viewing performance.

  • Download speed factors into how quickly software updates and Live or Search requests can be downloaded to the recorder.
  • Upload speed factors into the quality of remote viewing and how quick manually video clips can be exported to web services, either from a web browser or the mobile app.

How to test the internet speeds at an NVR site: 

From a computer:

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Navigate to a speed test website of your choice.  AvertX doesn't endorse 3rd party sites.  Some possible examples include:

From the ProConnect NVR's console:

  1. Login into the NVR as an admin user.
  2. Click on the Setup menu.
  3. Navigate to Setup> Networking > Power Over Ethernet -> Select 'Tools' on the bottom right of the page.
  4. Double click the “Web Browser” icon on the Desktop 
  5. Navigate to a speed test website of your choice. 
  6. Close the web browser.
  7. Click the “Exit” icon to return to the ProConnect user interface.
