How do I format SD cards and setup recording schedule for HD838, HD438, HD828 and HD820 cameras?

Formatting SD cards can be done from anywhere, but the steps vary from camera to camera.

In order to start recording video to the micro SD card in the camera you must first format the SD card. Next, setup a recording schedule using the camera's administrative browser interface.

The camera's administrative interface can be accessed through the Setup>Cameras menu via an authenticated account logged into the ProConnect NVR. For this process you can connect directly through the ProConnect console (with a local monitor, mouse and keyboard attached to the recorder) or through a separate computer's web browser.

From the ProConnect NVR's user interface

  1. Click on Setup
  2. Click Cameras on the left hand menu. This will show you a list of all of your cameras.
  3. Click on the camera with the SD card
  4. Click on the IP Address in the upper right hand corner of the General tab. This will open the camera's browser interface in a new tab, it will prompt you for username and password.

5. Log into the camera with its username and password. The default username is " admin" and password is "1234" (without the quotes).

NOTE: We suggest not changing the camera's password when logging in. You may be prompted to change the password, but we suggest clicking Cancel/Off, and keeping the default password in most cases. If the password is changed in the browser the ProConnect will lose connection to the NVR until the password is updated in the recorder's Camera settings.
