Will Remote Web Viewing work with Windows 10?

Windows 10 introduced Microsoft Edge as its default web browser. This browser does not support ActiveX. Microsoft continues to install Internet Explorer 11 with Windows 10 and also has a way to switch to Internet Explorer from Edge when necessary.

Accessing Internet Explorer if you are already using Edge:

  1. When you first connect to the recorder it will show the following page informing you that Internet Explorer is required.
  2. Click the Menu button and click "Open with Internet Explorer".
  3. A new Internet Explorer window will open to the same page explaining Internet Explorer is required.
  4. Retype your IP/Domain name and it will start the install process for ActiveX and open the web viewer.

Open Internet Explorer directly:

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Windows Accessories > Internet Explorer; or click Start and type "Internet Explorer"

Open Internet Explorer directly (as Administrator to export files when UAC is enabled):

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Windows Accessories > Internet Explorer; or click Start and type "Internet Explorer"
  2. Right click and click "Run as administrator"

Enable ActiveX Prompts

  1. Click on the cog wheel at the top right corner of the IE browser.
  2. Click on Internet Options>Security tab>Custom Level>change any Disabled Active settings to the Prompt option.
